Do you see what God is doing?God is on the move. Always. Even when I can't see it or feel it. He is working.
What has He been teaching you through this crazy year? I pray you have an answer to that question. If you are not learning and growing, you are stagnant. Stagnant is not a good place to be. Stagnant water harbors bacteria and stinks. Don't allow yourself to be stagnant! I have to admit I have struggled with many of the changes and cancellations that 2020 sponsored. There was that dream family trip to Disney World... cancelled. There was Bible Study Fellowship that became virtual. And don't get me started about the distance learning that made me put my business on the back burner as I assisted my kids in finishing up the school year. It is easy to lament about all the things that will never be because of the pandemic. But I always like to look on the bright side of things. There are many positives that have come out of this year already. Families have come together, many sharing meals for the first time in years. Gardening became a reclaimed passion for many. We have had plenty of down time to clean out closets and basements. Lots of people took on remodel projects around the house. One of my favorite changes was how many neighbors I saw taking walks around the community. I love that people are slowing down to the speed of real life. I believe God is using this year to awaken many people that had fallen asleep to the things that matter in life. Community is one of the tools God gave us for healthy, happy, long lives. Community is one of the things that is being shaken this year. Community has become more intentional. If you want community, you have had to become more creative in how you keep in touch. Through the changes and seeking community with like-minded people God has brought amazing new friends into my life. I am blessed to be in community with these new people. I see that God has brought us together to support eachother through this challenging time. In this year it has also become aparent those who have built their lives on a solid foundation. Those firm in the faith have weathered the storm of 2020 much better than others. The pandemic has brought out many secondary issues like mental health and addictions for people without a strong foundation in Christ. We are being forced to come back to those foundational things and ideas. If you built your life around your job providing for your needs and then lost it, you found out your foundation was not as strong as you thought. Do you have eyes to see what God is doing? God wants to be your provider. He wants you to build your life around Him and He will provide for your needs. 2020 started off as a year with so much promise and hope. It took a sideways turn, yes, but I believe it still has so much promise and hope. Instead of looking at the situation from your own human perspective, ask God to give you His. God knows what He is doing. His will is accomplished through all circumstances. We only need eyes to see. God, give us your eyes to see what you are doing this year! God wants to take us from our vision for 2020 and give us His perfect 2020 vision. When we have eyes to see what He is doing, we are able to partner with Him to advance His Kingdom. I know He has an assignment for you in this season. You only need eyes to see it.
